Ellen Nash (alias QueenE) (accordion, vocals) began her musical career playing concerts with her piano teacher, and accompanying choirs, weddings, and playing in church. After becoming a member of a song and dance show choir for a couple of years, learning all kinds of music became a passion. When Queen Ida visited Anchorage, the idea was formed to play the keyboard accordion and piano in a fun band. She has played piano backup with the visiting musicians: Hillbillies from Mars, Wild Asparagus, and Rex Blazer. During the many years with the Roadhouse Ramblers, she would switch off between the accordion and keyboard until eventually, the ZydeCohos, Anchorage's premiere Zydeco Swamp Boogie band was formed and the accordion became truly appreciated! Four years later, the band has gained a following of people who love zydeco music. After 2 trips to New Orleans, trying to fill the void of zydeco music in Alaska has become her latest passion!
